The governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Oyo State in the 2015 election, Engr. Seyi Makinde, said that he has learnt more lessons from his past political failures.
Makinde revealed this while featuring on a political interaction programme on Ibadan Impact Business Radio hosted by Isaac Brown on Saturday.
The politician contested as senator in 2007 and as governor in 2015 and lost in the two attempts.
But he said his failures in the two elections have enriched his experience both in politics and in life, stressing that it would guide him in his future political career.
Makinde, who defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the SDP during the build-up to the 2015 elections, said he still has time ahead of him, adding that he was in politics to serve.
Deploring the the worsening living standards of citizens in Nigeria, the politician said he was capable of governing Oyo State as he was prepared to make tough decisions that will enhance the well-being of the people.
He also rejected the commendation that the incumbent governor, Abiola Ajimobi, is the architect of modern Oyo State, saying he performed better in his first term in office, particularly in the area of infrastructural development.
He pledged to rebuild heathcare and the education sector if he makes it to Agodi Government House.
