The lawmaker representing Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa Federal Constituency of Oyo State in the House of Representatives, Hon. Shina Peller, on Saturday, paid a condolence visit to the family of Racheal Opadele, the slain student of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso.
Opadele, who was abducted with Olugbenga Owolabi, the owner of a hotel where she was working due to the ongoing ASUU strike, was killed alongside Owolabi, on Wednesday.
She was a final year student in the department of Fine and Applied Arts. Opadele took up the part-time job at the hotel in Abaa community, close to the institution pending suspension of the ASUU strike before hoodlums kidnapped her and Owolabi on July 29, at the hotel.
While commiserating with the families of the slain student and the hotelier, Peller expressed his heartfelt condolences on the demise of their loved ones, and prayed that God consoles them for their loss.
He described their killing as unfortunate and urged security agencies to fish out the perpetrators of the dastardly act.
Peller called on security agencies to avert further abduction in the area.
Also, the lawmaker met with the representatives of the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) from the five local government areas in the town to discuss the ugly security situation being experienced with a view to addressing it.
