The Oyo State Government on Thursday confirmed the appointment of Mrs Amidat Ololade Agboola as the new Head of Service (HoS) of the state Civil Service.
A statement by Commissioner of Information and Culture, Toye Arulogun said the appointment takes effect on Friday, May 24, 2019.
Agboola replaces Mrs Olawumi Ogunesan whose retirement from Civil Service takes effect from Thursday, May 23, 2019.
About Alhaja Amidat Agboola
The new HoS who hails from Ibadan is the wife of former Senate Deputy Chief Whip and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Senator Hosea Agboola a.k.a Alleluyah. Alleluyah is the chairman of the the transition committee inaugurated by Governor-elect Seyi Makinde
She is assuming office five days before Makinde is sworn-in as governor. She is however the fourth HoS to work with Ajimobi and the third to be appointed by him.
Mrs. Agboola joined the public service of Oyo State as administrative officer in 1988 and held various positions of responsibility across the service until her appointment as Permanent Secretary in March 2015, in the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
She attended Queens School, Ibadan (1975 – 1981) for her secondary school and holds the Bachelor of Arts (Hons) as well as Master’s degrees in History and Public administration from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife in 1985 and 2008 respectively.
Apart from Ogunesan, those who had worked under Ajimobi as HoS are Tajudeen Aremu and Soji Eniade.
