Coach of Nigeria’s national male U-23 team, the Dream Team VI, Samson Siasia, has been called on to explain what happened to the $390,000 which was given as a gift to the team by Japanese surgeon and philanthropist, Katsuya Takasu.
As Nigerians continue to advise the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to look away from the gift and what happened to it, an Abuja-based sports consultant, Dr Ben Kingsley, has insisted that Siasia would have to explain what happened to the money which was made available to the team after the team clinched bronze in the men’s football event of the just-concluded Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Inspite of news making the rounds that Siasia has turned in his resignation, the vastly-travelled sports consultant, has explained that it would be imperative and respectful of the tactician to explain to Nigerians what happened to the money.
“Even though he has turned in his resignation, I strongly believe and know that there is more to that money given by that Japanese. Siasia owes us all an explanation as to the whereabouts of that ‘gift’ to him and the team,” Kingsley stressed.
