Nigeria’s fight against insecurity will soon get a boost as Robotic and Intelligence Nigeria (RAIN), the first indigenous robot company in the country is set to launch dedicated inescapable trackers against kidnappers and bandits.
The founder of the company, Dr. Olusola Ayoola, who made the disclosure in Ibadan on Monday while receiving the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Mr. Sunday Dare, said the trackers which were at advanced stage of completion would further enhance the work of the Nigerian military and security agencies in their efforts to end kidnapping and banditry in the country.
Ayoola said that RAIN embarked on the development of the trackers in response to the challenge faced by youths.
He told the minister that the company was surprised by Dare’s unexpected visit to there office in August 2020, adding that the company consequently took the challenge thrown at them with all seriousness and sought support for the development of the trackers from the best brains across the globe.
Ayoola disclosed that the trackers and other robotic intelligence resources developed by the company would soon be ready for launch,maintaining that the proactive, impactful steps being taken by the minister were all what the youths of Nigeria needed to give their best to the country.
RAIN, according to founder has become fully concerned and committed to the development of “A1- based approaches, artificial intelligence and equipment to fighting crimes in Nigeria since the unprecedented motivation by the Minister of Youth and Sports Development.”
“Let me add that we are further encouraged this afternoon by the personal donation of 6 highly sophisticated computers to us by the Honourable Minister. He is really deepening digital literacy in Nigeria and this is what we need most at this point in time in our dear country. This is a minister with the genuine interest of us, the youths at heart. It is a genuine love for the growth of Nigeria.
“Despite your extremely busy schedule, you found time to plan, execute and fulfill your August 2020 promise to RAIN of donating laptops to support our program. This you did from your personal pocket and it is very appreciated by all of us at RAIN.
“We must agree that in today’s world, these exemplary acts are very rare; to give out anything for free, let alone high-end laptops of the type you presented to us. It only goes to confirm your genuine commitment to the cause which you donate towards – digital upskilling of Nigerians.
“We have in you, Honourable Minister sir, a rare visionary leader and a very rare politician.
“Yes, leaders cannot do it alone, but leaders can show direction, examples, give incentives, encourage entrepreneurship, donate to worthy causes,” he said
Ayoola, however, Qrefused to disclose the details or components of the trackers and other security intelligence his company was developing but only had a private meeting with Dare after the presentation.
