Protesting students of the Federal College of Agriculture, Apata, Ibadan, on Thursday caused a major gridlock along the Ibadan-Abeokuta expressway. For hours, they blocked the roads with burning tyres, planks and other heavy objects.
The students said they were protesting the fatal injury suffered by one of them, who was hit by a vehicle while crossing the road to the gate of the school located along the Ibadan-Abeokuta expressway.
The victim is currently in coma at a hospital while the driver of the vehicle had been arrested.
Hoodlums however took advantage of the situation, demanding money from motorists.
