A group of fishermen have prevented a yet-to-be identified woman from committing suicide by jumping into the Lagoon in Lagos state, TVC News reports.

The woman was identified as Abigail Ogunyinka.
In an interview with TVC News, the old woman said she jumped into the lagoon because she was owing N150,000, a sum she borrowed from a microfinance bank.
She said she collected loan to fund her ‘amala’ business and has been in default for two weeks. She said would not be able to face the shame and embarrassment.
It was learnt that she left the house in company of a little girl who lived with her family. On why she went with the girl, she said it was to ensure that there was someone to tell the family what actually happened to her.
