The wife of the Governor of Oyo State, Mrs Florence Ajimobi has charged parents especially mothers to cultivate the habit of cooking at home and eating healthy and imbue in their children, the same habit.
Mrs Ajimobi gave the advice on Sunday at the reception to celebrate the 30th wedding anniversary and renewal of vows of the Chief Medical Director of University College Hospital (UCH), Professor Temitope Alonge and his wife, Mrs Temitope Oluwatoyin Alonge.
The event which held at Theophilus Ogunlesi Multipurpose hall, UCH, Ibadan, also saw the launching of the book, “West African Dishes”, the third in the series written by Mrs Alonge.
“Let us cultivate the culture of cooking and teach our children how to cook. Let us imbibe the culture of healthy living and healthy eating in our children. If you eat healthy, you will live healthy”, Mrs Ajimobi said, during the unveiling of the book.
In her remarks, the author, Mrs Alonge, said the book was written to impac lives.
“I love to cook and write,” she said. “The inspiration came naturally and I started writing. It is more about impacting lives. Most of the products are produced from my farm. They are simple recipes that are available at our finger tips”.
During the church service, the resident pastor of the Stone Church, Bodija, Ibadan, Pastor (Mrs) Oluyinka Adeyemi, who spoke on how to ensure a successful marriage, stated that submission and love are basic principles of a successful marriage.
She explined that “if you are not submitted to the Holy Spirit, you will have problems submitting to people”. According to her, marriages work when those incolved are filled with the Holy Spirit at all times.
