A 31-year old tenant allegedly beat up his 63-year old landlord Mr Rahmon Adewale in Lagos state.
It was gathered that trouble started at about 9:30pm on December 26 when the tenant, Abass Babtunde, clashed with the landlord at the gate of the building. The landlord was said to be locking the gate when Babatunde walked up to him and requested to go out to buy drugs for his sick baby.
The landlord reportedly refused saying it was too late to go out. In annoyance, Babatunde was said to have punched the landlord severally in the face as they struggled at the building’s entrance.
The case is now in court where it was revealed that in the struggle, Babatunde damaged the padlock worth N2500.
The chief magistrate, Mr A.A Fashola granted the accused bail to the tune of N5,000 with a surety.
