A former Senate Leader, Teslim Folarin, has urged wealthy Nigerians to be more generous to poor people in the spirit of the Eid-el-Kabir, and in the face of the current economic hardship in the country.
Speaking to our correspndent in Ibadan on Monday during the Eid el Kabir celebrations, Folarin said the season is an opportunity for comfortable Nigerians to extend love and generousity to those struggling as a result of the economic recession.
Expressing optimism that Nigeria come out of the recession stronger, the former senate leader said tough economic condition calls for collective efforts, leading by example and thinking differently.
His words: “We must begin to live by example. It is a time people who have as a matter of obligation begin to share with people who do not have. These are trying time. But the country will overcome it. Every nation at one time or the other in their history passed through this experience. We need to work together to overcome it. We need to begin to think outside the box, think differently and we shall overcome it.”
