Two aides of UK Prime Minister Theresa May have resigned following the Conservative Party’s loss of parliamentary majority in Thursday’s election, Reuters reports.
They are Nick Timothy, May’s co-chief of staff and Fiona Hill, the PM’s joint chief of staff.
Timothy, on ConservativeHome website said: “The reason for the disappointing result was not the absence of support for Theresa May and the Conservatives but an
unexpected surge in support for Labour.”
Theresa May said on Friday that she will remain in the job and form a new government to guide the country through Brexit talks.
