About 3,200 residents of Ibadan have benefited from a week-long free medical exercise facilitated by friends of the All Progressive Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Oyo State, Chief Adebayo Adelabu.
The medical outreach which ended on Thirsday saw medical team of 12 medical doctors, three pharmacists and nurses visit Eleyele, Sango Motor Park, Bodija Market, Kudeti, Oje and Oniyanrin Market. They also visited Apete, Ologuneru, Ido, Sabo, Idi-Ape, Iwo Road,, Monatan, Muslim, Oremeji and Alakia.
According to leader of the team, Dr. Tola Olayemi, the medical outreach was designed to connect with the people of the state to provide free medical checks and free drugs to adults and children.
Free tests for hypertension, diabetes, visual disturbances and malaria were conducted while free drugs – antimalarials, antibiotics, deworming, anti-ulcer, pain relievers, multivitamins, and iron supplements, were also given.
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke lauded Adelabu and the medical team for the humanitarian gesture and urged the governorship candidate to continue with the exercise even if he is elected governor.
