Violence broke out at several polling units in Okota, Lagos Mainland, on Saturday, leading to the death of three persons.
Newspeakonline gathered that a barber identified as Peter and a leader of the Oodua People’s Congress (OPC), identified as Demola, were killed at Powerline, Canal Estate in Okota.
The third person was stabbed to death at Last Bus Stop, Ago.
It was gathered that while Peter was stabbed to death when thugs stormed the area to disrupt elections, Demola was allegedly stoned to death by angry residents who were denied their rights to vote.
Residents blamed the police and soldiers for not acting swiftly even when they got reports of hoodlums disrupting elections as early as 8am.
At polling unit 023, Ago Palace Way, already thumb printed ballot papers were razed by thugs.
At polling unit 016 Fredrick Fasheun street, Ago Palace Way, residents said thugs who stormed the polling unit assaulted a man that attempted to video them while they were forcing people to vote for a particular party or be killed.
Polling units in Palace Way, Okota, Aguda-Surulere, Bariga in Somolu, Lagos Island, Ajao Estate, Isolo, Oshodi, Ijora and Mosafejo in Ajegunle were also affected.
