Three policemen attached to Keta out station in Tsafe Local government area of Zamfara state have been abducted.
Reports said dozens of armed men invaded the village and attacked the outpost, but the motive for the attack is unknown.
Zamfara state has enjoyed relative peace after a peace deal between the bandits and the local vigilantes was brokered in December 2016 by the state government under the leadership of the deputy governor Ibrahim Wakkala Muhammad.
But, there were pockets of deadly raids on some communities believed to have been carried out by some defiant armed bandits thus threatening the peace process.
Recently, Governor Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar expressed concern over the recent pockets of attacks on some communities in the state.
He said the attacks by some gunmen in the last few weeks in Bakura, Maradun and some parts of Anka local Government Areas by the gunmen called for a total condemnation and would not be accepted.
The public Relations officer of the state police command DSP Muhammad Shehu said the Divisional Police Officer of Tsafe LGA and other police officers were dispatched in search of the missing officers.
