The Rwanda Development Board (RBD) on Wednesday stated that tourism companies and establishments operating in the country risk getting shut down if they fail to apply for tourism operating licenses by Sunday, September 30, 2018.
The board had fixed September 15 as deadline for application but in a statement issued on Wednesday, it said the deadline has been shifted to September 30.
“This notice serves as a final reminder to all existing tourism entities that failing to apply for an operating license by the above deadline will lead to closure of their business establishments until they comply with the tourism law No 12 ter/2014 of 19/05/2014”, the statement said.
It explained that “tourism entities” include accommodation establisments, restaurants, bars, night clubs, tour companies, tour guides, travle agencies and tourism information centres.
