The second term inauguration activities for Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde, will commence on Friday, May 26, with a special Juma’at service, at the Central Mosque, Oja’ba, Ibadan.
The Transition Committee Chairman and Chief of Staff to the Government, Segun Ogunwuyi, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday.
According to Ogunwuyi, the Juma’at service to herald Makinde’s inauguration at the Ibadan Central mosque, Oja’ba will begin at 1pm. Also, a special thanksgiving service will hold on Sunday at Sword of the Spirit Ministries, Old Ife Road, Ibadan.
The governor will be sworn-in on Monday, May 29, 2023 at Liberty Stadium, Ibadan.
This would be followed by a transition report by the Transition Committee at the Governor’s Office, Ibadan.
Later in the evening, a Gala night will hold at the International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan.
Past governors of the state, political leaders among other bigwigs have been invited to grace Makinde’s inauguration, who will be sworn-in as the 8th executive governor of Oyo State.
Also expected at the inauguration are past Senators, Diplomats, heads of international organisations, prominent Nigerians and representatives of foreign governments and agencies.
The committee enjoined car owners to adhere strictly to parking instructions, as wrongly parked cars would be towed.
