US President Donald Trump on Monday defended his decision to allow his daughter, Ivanka, to take take his place during a meeting at the G20 summit at the weekend.
He also lashed out at Chelsea Clinton, daughter of Hillary Clinton, his rival in the 2016 election.
Chelsea was one of those who criticised Trump’s action.
According to Trump on Twitter, said that the arrangement was “very standard”.
However, Mr Trump’s decision to have Ivanka Trump stand-in for him at a G20 meeting sparked backlash from some observers who said the move highlighted the blurred lines between family and staff at the White House.
Ivanka Trump is an advisor to her father and has an office in the West Wing.
The president also took the opportunity to strike-out at Ms Clinton: “If Chelsea Clinton were asked to hold the seat for her mother,as her mother gave our country away, the Fake News would say CHELSEA FOR PRES!”.
