Following Joe Biden’s emergence as the 46th President of the United States after victory in the battleground state of Pennsylvania propelled him past the 270-vote electoral college threshold, President Donald Trump and the Republican party have kicked against the result of the election.
Immediately Biden was declared president-elect four days after polls closed, marking the conclusion of a highly competitive presidential race that was fought against the backdrop of a pandemic that has killed more than 226,000 Americans, Trump via is twitter handle said he won the election.
“I WON THIS ELECTION, BY A LOT!” Trump tweeted.
But his tweet has been flagged by Twitter for disinformation.
The Republican party also disagreed with the result of the election, claiming voters were disenfranchised.
“Republicans across the country feel there was not transparency, and feel disenfranchised from processes in these major cities,” Republican party chairman, Ronna McDanel said.
