Two Immigration officers were on Thursday apprehended at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos for allegedly facilitating six underage girls to Omar and Kuwait on Ethiopian airlines.
The officers, identified as O. Araoyinbo and Awosanmi G, were arrested by Aviation Security officers (AVSEC), who were on surveillance at the departure hall.
According to a source, the suspects have been transferred to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) for investigation.
Confirming the arrest, the Nigeria Immigration Services spokesman, James Sunday, said the comptroller-general has ordered that an investigation be carried out, while the suspects should be referred to the headquarters where disciplinary action would be taken against them.
