Two ships collided in Warri last Monday, killing one person and leaving three others injured. The injured crew members are receiving treatment at Twins Clinic Warri while the body of the deceased has been deposited at the mortuary.
MaritimeFirst newspaper reports that the vessels, MT Elixir and MT Tank, collided midnight last Monday, October 19, about 65 miles from shore and just 10 nautical miles south west of the Bonga FPSO near Warri.
Personnel of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) were able to rescue eight remaining crew members from the ships.
Ag. Director General of the Agency, Mr. Haruna Baba Jauro has directed a thorough investigation, into the incident to ascertain the remote and immediate causes.
