UNIBEN suspends 5 Student Union executives

The University of Benin has reportedly suspended five executives of the school’s Student Union.

Those suspended, according to circular issued on Friday, include the President, Ogbidi Osemudiamen a.k.a, the PRO and three others.

The institution’s Senate in the circular, instructed the union to put the Vice President, Francs Okogwu in charge as Acting President.

The suspended students were punished for spearheading protests that allegedly disrupted the 47th Founder’s day and the 43rd Convocation Ceremonies of the University last November.

The school had placed a ban on all union activities after the incident. It lifted the ban on Friday and at the same time announced punishment for some of the union leaders.
