Ondo State governor and candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the October 10 governorship election, Rotimi Akeredolu is leading his closest challenger, Eyitayo Jegede of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with 73,176 votes.
According to the results declared at collation centers of 12 local government areas by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Akeredolu has polled 252,799 votes while Jegede is trailing with 179,623.
The deputy governor and Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) candidate, Agboola Ajayi places a distant third with 58,962 votes.
Ilaje and Ese Odo are the remaining local government areas yet to submit their results at the state collation center in Akure as at 12:30pm on Sunday.
