The management of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, has announced a two-week mid-semester break, beginning from March 28, 2022.
This was contained in a statement made available to newton on Saturday by the university’s registrar, Mrs Magaret Omosule.
“This is to inform staff and students of the university that Management, at a meeting held today, Saturday, 26th March, 2022, approved a two-week mid-semester break for students beginning from Monday, 28th March, 2022.
“We wish students of the university an enjoyable break,” the statement read.
The university had been rocked by a series of protests by a group of Ife indigenes who decried the non-appointment of Ife indigene as the vice chancellor of the institution.
The protest commenced immediately afte the annoucement of Prof. Adebayo Bamire as the new vice chancellor. However, the protest was recently suspended.
