Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki has revealed how he sought and received blessing of the General Overseer (GO) of the Redeened Christian Church of God, Pastor E. A. Adeboye, for his two electoral victories.
Obaseki revealed this while giving a testimony at the Holy Ghost Congress of the church Friday night. The programme was held at the Redemption Camp, Lagos-Ibadan expressway, Ogun State.
The governor said Adeboye had revealed to him that his problem in the first term election was not about winning because his victory was assured but about the challenges he would face after winning. He said Adeboye advised him to be courageous and stay close to God.
While preparing for the second term election, he said he went to see Adeboye for fresh prayers. He said the cleric again assured him of winning.
According to him, his second term election proved to those that were playing God in his life that only God gives power.
Obaseki thanked Adeboye and his wife Pastor Folu Adeboye for their support and urged leaders and members of the church to continue to pray for his administration.
