The break away faction of All Progressives Congress(APC) in Oyo State under the aegis of Unity Forum have restated its confidence in the leadership of the senator representing Oyo central district, Sen. Monsurat Sunmonu.
The development was part of the major highlights of the exclusive stakeholders meeting held on Friday to appraise the commitment and activities of members of the group across the state.
Welcoming the ward and state executive leaders of the group to the discourse, the Secretary, Dr. Wasiu Olatubosun commended the spirited efforts of members in the stabilising and bringing growth to the forum across the 33 local government areas of the state.
According to Olatubosun, ‘’it is imperative for the forum to hold such an important meeting as demanded by the circumstances surrounding the scheming in the polity in order to update ourselves with genuine information of the political situation.’’
In a remark, Sen. Sunmonu, thanked the leadership of the group across the ward and local government areas for their unwavering love and support since her adoption as the leader of the group.
She assured the teeming members that equity, fairness and transparency will be the watchword of the group.
The senator allayed the fears expressed by the leaders concerning the prominence and future of the members of the group in the African Democratic Congress(ADC).
She enjoined the ward and local government leaders of the group to work hand in hand with the other leaders in the ADC to position the party at the grassroot ahead of future elections.
Sunmonu also lauded the magnanimity and openness of Sen. Olufemi Lanlehin, the former governorship candidate of ADC in the state and leader of the party in accommodating every member of the party without discrimination.
