The Agboola Ajayi Campaign Organisation has said the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) would make its position about the conduct of Saturday’s governorship election in Ondo State known after the collation of reports from its various field officers.
A statement on Sunday by its Director General, Dr. Kola Ademujimi, commended “the resilience, doggedness and strong determination of the National Leader of our party, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, the Ondo State chairman of ZLP, Joseph Akinlaja, all members of the State Executive Committee, party leaders and the good people of this state in the face of naked intimidation, harassment, threat and blatant abuse of state powers by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) government before and during the election.”
The party expressed its appreciation to its leaders and teeming supporters for standing by it in Saturday’s governorship election.
Agboola Ajayi, who is the incumbent deputy governor was elected on the platform of the APC, but he left the party to realise his ambition to govern the state; first to the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) and subsequently to the ZLP after losing the PDP primary.
