Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed the possibility of Alexis Sanchez joining Premier League rivals Manchester United before current transfer window closes.
Sanchez, 29, was reported on Wednesday to have agreed personal terms with Man U.
Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, Wenger said: “I worked on transfers for 30 years so it is likely to happen, but at any moment it can break down”.
Wenger also said it was a “possibility” United midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan will be a part of the deal.
“I like the player,” added Wenger. “We played many times against him when he was at Dortmund. He appreciated the quality of our games. The wages would not be a problem.”
Reports say Arsenal want £10m plus Armenia international Henrikh Mkhitaryan for Sanchez. The Arsenal are also planning to replace Sanchez with Borussia Dortmund striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The club is offering cash plus Olivier Giroid to the German side.
Arsenal have already sold Theo Walcott to Everton.
