The Executive Secretary, Oyo State Health Insurance Agency (OYSHIA), Dr. Sola Akande, has disclosed that members of the Amotekun Corps have been fully registered into the health insurance scheme.
While speaking on a radio programme, Akande said that the agency has also registered four schools and two eateries into the state’s health insurance.
He further explained that more communities are already embracing the community health insurance initiative.
“More communities are coming on board and they will be making use of primary health care centers in their vicinity, which will enable them have easy access to health care, sustenance and maintenance,” he said.
According to Akande, community health insurance will make everybody, especially leaders in the community to know that primary health care centers will not degenerate because the communities own the health facilities and not government.
