America’s first lady, Michelle Obama, increasingly beooming popular among progressives in the United States as she has emerged a major campaigner for Democratic candidate, Hillary Clinton, ahead of the November 8 elections.
However, witty views have it that she is doing it to ensure her husband, President Barack Obama, does not think of a third term in office.
And what would she do if he forced his way through?
Barack Obama gave the answer last night on Jimmy Kimmel Live, where he continued his late night TV circuit and was asked about the potential of a third term.
“If I were able to run for a third term, Michelle would divorce me,” he joked. “So it’s useful I don’t have that choice to make.”
Be that as it may, many critics of Hillary Clinton argue that her presidency would be like a third term for Obama as they believe that she would effectively be running to continue Obama’s policies.
On the show, Obama noted that one of the things that made General George Washington a noble president was his wisdom in knowing when to step down and essentially establish the precedent of term limits.
“I know you have to leave,” prompted Kimmel, “but can we keep her for another four years?” Kimmel asked to uproarious cheers from the crowd.
“All the women in my life are looking forward to be able to live a more normal life,” President Obama said about his wife and daughters.
