A meet of the House of Representstives, Hon. Tolulope Akande-Sadipe, has disclosed that majority of the leaders and stakeholders in Oluyole federal constituency have endorsed Hon. Olalekan Adeyemo as the candidate for Oyo central senatorial chairman, ahead of the party’s state congress, scheduled for Saturday, October 16.
The lawmaker, who represents Oluyole federal constituency in the green chamber said she and other stakeholders are in support of Adeyemo’s candidacy.
She said that the quality and experience of Adeyemo among the party hierarchy has distinguished him, adding that he is a man characterised by three main virtues- integrity, experience, and maturity- which would be a great tool for the party to triumph in the 2023 election.
Adeyemo is the deputy caretaker chairman of the party in the state. He was also a former member of Oyo State House of Assembly.
“The decision to adopt and endorse Hon. Olalekan Adeyemo was made in an open meeting by the majority of stakeholders in Oluyole APC with the view of selecting the best candidate for the seat,” Akande-Sadipe said.
Hon. James Adeleke, who was also present during the process has said the selection represents a democratic choice of a majority within the party.
“All ward chairmen present at the deliberation unanimously agreed that Hon. Olalekan Adeyemo, fondly called baba Adeyemo is the right man for the job. They noted that baba has proven himself over the years and has amassed respect as well as shown the great leadership quality,” Adeleke said.
Speaking on the consensus choice, Hon. Idowu Oyewale, said that Adeyemo is the favourite candidate amongst the leadership and constituents within other local governments in the senatorial district and is perceived as an eminent personality within the party structure.
At the meeting were Hon. Oyeniyi Oyeniran, Elder Alamu Osuolale, Alhaja Adebiyi, Hon Gbolagade, Chief Garuba Lawal, Pa Abidogun, Alh Mufu Ladoja among many others.
