If you drink, don’t drive! If you drive, don’t drink!
The above warning is quite understandable simply because it refers to the consumption of alcohol. But now, the Federal Road Safety Corps is warning against the consumption of sugary foods and many are wondering what business the FRSC has with our sugar consumption.
Below is is a statement posted by the organisation on its social media page. It explains it:
Avoid Sugar-laden foods
Refined sugar and ingredients such as high-fructose corn syrup can give you an instant energy burst, but they’re also well-known to dull your reflexes and your memory.
Even animals, sugar-laden foods has effects on their brain. a studies with rats demonstrated that ”they were slower and their brains showed a decline in synaptic activity. Basically, it made them less efficient and effective”.
This would also preclude many sugary drinks.
More soon.
