Ondo State governor and candidate of Zenith Labour Party(ZLP) in Saturday’s governorship election, Agboola Ajayi, has said that he deliberately boycotted the debate organised for the governorship candidates because he has no confidence in the organisers.
The governorship debate was held at the international conference center, otherwise known as The Dome, in Akure on Sunday.
Ajayi, who spoke through his media aide, Tope Okeowo, said the organisers of the debate have sympathy for Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.
“We don’t have confidence in the organisers and they are not likely to be fair to our candidate,” he said.
According to him, the moderator of the debate, Akinwumi Abodunde and other members of the team are employees of the state government, noting that Abodunde works for the state-owned Orange 104.5 FM.
“If the deputy governor attended there would be trouble because the organisers are those earning money from the state government.
“You can see how the moderator favoured the governor in the distribution of the questions,” Okeowo added.
