Nollywood actress cum politician, Funke Akindele, has disclosed why she took a break on social media platform, Twitter.
She made the disclosure while responding to a tweep on her Twitter handle, on Thursday.
Akindele said she stayed off the microblogging site due to insults, adding that she was not afraid of verbal abuse but decided to be careful.
A tweep, @apexproperties2 had asked the actress why she had been absent on the platform, saying: “Madam Funke Akindele i sight you… longest time… you run away for us abi wot happen.”
Responding, Akindele said: “ Dem too Dey insult people on this app so I stay off. How are you?”
Reacting to the response, another tweep asked her if she was afraid of people, saying: “You? Afraid of people? No way!”
Akindele replied, “No I’m not afraid!! I’m just careful.”
Akindele, the running mate to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Lagos, Abdulazeez Adediran, aka Jandor, had earlier deleted all campaign and political-related posts on her social media accounts after her party lost the election.
