The Executive Secretary (ES), Oyo State Health Insurance Agency( OYSHIA), Dr Sola Akande, has explained the reasons enrollees are being moved from one hospital to another.
According to Akande, the movement is because of the ongoing accreditation of new facilities and reaccreditation of existing ones, adding that the movement is also to help deliver the mandate of the scheme.
He, however, noted that another reason for the movement was because OYSHIA was dissatisfied with the services being rendered by some of service providers.
The ES further said enrollees still have a right to decide the hospital they want to be moved to if they are not comfortable with the one assigned to them by the agency, stressing that enrollees are being notified through their emails and phone numbers.
Akande added that all the actions taken were to protect the enrollees and be responsible to the people to ensure that “there is some confidence in the level of service delivery in the hospitals which enrollees are being moved to.”
He stated that the movement is across the state, adding that OYSHIA will release a comprehensive list of newly accredited facilities after enrollees have been moved.
The OYSHIA boss also said that most enrollees agreed to subscribed to the health insurance scheme because they want a hospital close to where they live.
He noted that there would be about 160 service providers across the state when OYSHIA completes the process and ” for providers coming in, we want to assure you that reward will be deeper and better and we are making arrangements that will make all our providers happy.”
