A woman flushed her three-year-old son’s head down their toilet as a punishment for swearing. The footage of the incident posted online has drawn public outrage.
The woman, identified as Kaitlyn Wolf, in the footage, holding the child’s arms behind his back while his head dangled upside down. As Kaitlyn flushes the the toilet, the boy screams at his mum to stop.
But she refuses, instead lowering him further into the bowl.
The footage was captured in Virginia, US, and Kaitlyn has said it was a punishment for her son swearing but it is not known what the boy said.
The Sun UK quoted Kaitylin as saying: “It was a joke between the three of us”
“I sent it to [the babysitter] as a joke, like, ‘Haha. This is the new way you can discipline them’”
“My sons and I horseplay rough. We stuck his head in the toilet and flushed it. And my older son was recording it.
“I sent it to [the babysitter] as a joke, like, ‘Haha. This is the new way you can discipline them’.”
From there it went to her boyfriend’s ex-girlfriend, who then posted it online to go viral.
Caitlin went on to defend her actions, saying: “His head was never under the water, his face never got wet. It was maybe the top or this part of his hair
“It’s scary to think I might lose my children over this – over a joke that we played.”
Since the video went viral, Kaitlyn has received death threats and has admitted she regrets the punishment.
Posting on Facebook, local police said: “The Leesburg Police has received many calls and posts about a recently shared video on Facebook, showing a woman holding her son’s head inside the rim of a toilet.
“The incident is currently under investigation by the Dept. of Children and Families.
“Detectives are working with the State Attorney’s Office to determine criminal prosecution.”
