A woman, Mrs Bukola Ogidiolu, who allegedly set her husband, on fire and burnt his manhood was on Monday paraded by the Ekiti State Police Command.
It was gathered that trouble started for the deceased husband, Abimbola Ogidiolu, a commercial driver and an indigene of Ado Ekiti, who lives in the Idolofin area of Ado Ekiti, when he left home on February 14 to have fun, without his wife.
He was reportedly said to have returned home at about 6pm on the Valentine Day to meet his angry wife, who had been accusing him of infidelity.
But speaking contrary to this, Mrs. Ogidiolu claimed her husband caught fire as a result of explosion from a keg of petrol kept inside the house.
“We had disagreement over his nonchalant attitude to my barrenness that day which led to the fighting between us. Our neighbours tried to plead with him but he never listened to them”.
“He later ran inside and destroyed all my property. But he had forgotten that we have petrol inside and when he was about lighting his cigarette, the keg that contains the petrol exploded and my husband caught fire immediately,” she said.
