With Nigerians increasingly getting enraged over the unending xenophobic attacks going on South Africa, apprehension is building among South African firms in Nigeria.
Many Nigerians are calling on the Federal Government to take strong action against the firms, among which are Shoprite, DSTV and Stanbic IBTC Bank. Unconfirmed reports and photos suggest that an outlet of MTN Nigeria, one of the most popular South African firms in Nigeria, was set on fire in Apapa, Lagos.
MTN Nigeria, has reacted to the rage. In a statement issued on Tuesday, the company condemned hate, prejudice and xenophobia, stating that everyone has “the roght to live and earn a living, freely, safely and protected by the law”
