The Grand Council of Yoruba Youths (Agbarijo Egbe Odo Yoruba) has congratulated Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, on his victory at the Supreme Court.
A statement signed by the President General (Are Apapo) of the group, Comrade Awa Bamiji, said Akeredolu’s victory is a triumph over the forces of tyranny and oppression in Ondo State.
The statement read: “We join members of your family, friends, and associates to roll out the drums and blare trumpets to rejoice with you, as one of our most dignified leaders in the civil society, on the occasion of your 65th birthday anniversary and victory at the Supreme Court.
“Your second term victory in the sunshine state showed your popularity among the electorate in Ondo State and within the leadership of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), both in Ondo State and in the South West as a whole.
“We were particularly impressed with the way you passionately reached out to various factions within the ruling and opposition parties and brought them together to have a united front ahead of the 2020 gubernatorial election.
“You have equally recorded laudable achievements both as the Chairman of the Southern Governors’ Forum and South West Governors’ Forum among which are the timely establishment of Amotekun Corps in the South Western states and the historic Communique of the Southern Governors’ Forum which proffers solutions to the myriad of problems confronting the nation presently, and reaffirmation that it is the turn of the South when it comes to 2023 Presidency.
“On this occasion of your birthday anniversary and your resounding victory at the Supreme Court, we are all raising our voice in concert to say “Aketi ti d’araba t’apa o le ka.” Many happy returns, our own Arakunrin of Oduduwaland.”
