The remains of the Alaafin of Oyo Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III will be commuted to mother earth Saturday night in line with traditional rites.
Newspeakonline learnt that the members of the Oyomesi would supervise the interment according to tradition.
Islamic clerics had prayed on his corpse at about noon in his palace on Saturday. The gesture, it was learnt, ended public aspects of the monarch’s burial being a Muslim. Traditionalists are to take over, hence the interment taking place at night.
The monarch joined his ancestors Friday evening at the age of 83 years. He spent 52 years on the throne.
