Former member of the House of Representatives, Hon Rotimi Makinde, has told Osun State Governor, Sen Ademola Adeleke, that the government house is not a tutorial college.
The Ife-born politician, in a statement made available to newsmen on Thursday, said Adeleke must demonstrate that he has the capacity to govern the state, urging the governor to stop doing trial and error.
“In just one year, he has a record of saying something, hurriedly doing another thing and reversing the same thereafter.
“All these are signals that he was not prepared for where he eventually found himself. Governor Adeleke must not limit his consultations to his Ede country home where he is alleged to be operating from.
“I have seen some responsible men of honour in his cabinet; if he humbles himself to these set of people, he could at least manage to get a fair mark, as credit mark has already eluded him. With the signs shown so far, I honestly think Osun people are in for a terrible ride.
“I want to advise him and his party to start ignoring all the side talks. The party should get closer to him and guide him before he plunges the state into further monumental embarrassment.
“By now, Governor Adeleke must be learning very fast what to do at the right time. Unfortunately, Bola Ige House is not a tutorial college.
“The governor must demonstrate capacity, potential and suitability to run the affairs of his office, and his competency should be guided by the constitution. He must also show good teamwork, integrity, problem-solving and consultation skills, as well as result-oriented abilities.
“He must demonstrate that he has what it takes to govern this state,” Makinde stated.
