President Muhammadu Buhari’s return to the country on Friday is a divine reassurance that the mission to reinvent Nigeria would be achieved after all, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State has said.
In a statement issued by the State Chairman, Chief Akin Oke, in reaction to the president’s arrival after about 50 days medical leave in London, the party said that President Buhari was on a mission to restore the country back to the path of greatness.
He added that Buhari would not deviate from this lofty goal even if the enemies of Nigeria continued to wish him failure.
His words:”In Oyo State chapter of the APC, we have always believed in the sincerity, capability and competence of Mr. President and this was why our state gave him the largest number of votes in all the 17 southern states in the 2015 general elections. So far, we have not regretted our contribution to his victory at the poll and we will not only continue to identify with his policies and programmes but also pray for his success since it is a general belief globally that he is on a rescue mission.
“No evil machinations of the enemies of the country would overtake the President as keeps working round the clock to fight the menace of corruption in the land, fix the economy which had nearly been killed by the past PDP administration and champion the cause of national rebirth. We have been made to see how far the President had gone in his rebuilding process as the team player in him manifested when no vacuum was experienced throughout the period of his vacation against what happened during the Yar’Adua’s saga.
“Now that President Buhari is back to his duty post, we enjoin those with negative inclinations towards the country (including all those wishing the President dead or incapacitated) to seek forgiveness from God almighty and begin to appreciate the Buhari/Osinbajo administration as God-send. Notwithstanding the resolve of Buhari presidency to work assiduously to fix the country, it is evident that those responsible for the rot as well as those who benefited from their corrupt practices while in power would stop at nothing to frustrate the APC administration’s efforts.
“The good news in town now is that President Buhari is back and better. What this implies is that the vehicle of progress for the country is poised to move faster and better while patriots should be ready to witness massive turn around in the socio-economic and political firmament of the world’s most populous black nation. As we welcome our amiable President back home, we wish him all round success in his mission to deliver the good and vision to reposition the country.”
