In line with CAP114 Laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Chief Press Secretary (CPS ) to Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River State, Nsa Gill has been formally inducted into the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).
The event, which took place at the NTA Headquarters Arena in Abuja, was part of the Diamond anniversary celebration of the NIPR, which will climax on June 27, with an international colloquium at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja.
After the virtual induction, the CPS appreciated the leadership of the noble profession for the initiative, stating that the drive is geared towards achieving greater professionalism and excellence in the performance of his schedules, especially in placing the image of his boss regularly at the front burner.
He vowed to use his office to ensure that Cross River State is represented in not just a positive light, but in a way that will attract investors into the state in order to explore the state’s healthy business climate as well as harness her rich tourism potentials.
Earlier, the chairman of NIPR in Cross River State, Mr. Benedict Okache, congratulated the newly inducted members and commended them for recognising the importance of identifying with the noble profession, especially now that caderisation of public relations has been approved in the scheme of service at federal, state and local government levels.
He tasked them to uphold the ethics of the profession and represent the institute as well as their various organisations in a positive light.
The ceremony, which was held physically in Abuja and virtually across the nation, had 605 new associate members inducted into the institute by the 15th President and Chairman of the Council, Dr. Ike Neliaku.
Other inductees from Cross River State include Director, Technical Services in the Ministry of Information and Editor-in-chief of MOFINEWS, Mrs. Margaret Asikong; Assistant Secretary of Cross River State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Mr. Kingsley Agim; Chairman, Cross River State Information Chapel of NUJ, Comrade Egbe Iloke; Mrs.Akpo Ifeyinwa MaryAnn , Mr Austin Unwanede and Sylvia Jacob Okoi, all of CRBC and Information Chapels respectively.
