There is uproar in Osun State following the invitation of Olawale Rasheed, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Ademola Adeleke, by the Department of State Services (DSS) for allegedly sponsoring fake news against Femi, the son of Minister of Marine and Blue Economy and former governor of the state, Adegboyega Oyetola.
An Abuja-based blogger had published a news report, claiming that Femi is extorting Directors in the Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy. The blogger was subsequently arrested by DSS operatives and she reportedly confessed that Rasheed sponsored the report.
Rasheed had in a statement earlier in the week denied the claim of giving any report to online publisher on Oyetola’s son, noting that he will meet with the investigators this weekend.
Meanwhile, Rasheed made a u-turn as he has filed an originating summons for the enforcement of his rights before a Federal High Court, Osogbo against DSS and Femi Oyetola.
In the suit, Rasheed sought three reliefs which include restraining order against DSS from “inviting, arresting or detaining him.”
