Eligible voters have refused to come out to participate in the ongoing local government election in Oyo State
The State Independent Electoral Commission had fixed Saturday, April 27, 2024, for the local government poll.
However, eligible voters have refused to participate in the process as people were seen going about their normal activities.
Meanwhile, the state governor, Engr Seyi Makinde, has urged residents of the state to come out en-masse to perform their civic responsibility.
The governor made the appeal while speaking with journalists shortly after casting his vote at Ward 1, Unit 11, Ibadan North East Local Government Area of the state.
Makinde reminded them of the need to take part in choosing their leaders.
He, therefore, appealed to residents to come out to exercise their civic responsibilities.
The ongoing local government election is expected to at 3pm.
