The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State has said the campaigns of the Lagos State Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) and its candidate, Mr Babatunde Gbadamosi, reminded it of the campaigns of United States President, Donald Trump and former vice president, Atiku Abubabkar.

Oyo APC was reacting to a statement by the PDP in Lagos State, where it said an online poll showed that its candidate, Gbadamosi, will win four of the five local governments that made up the Lagos East senatorial district in Saturday’s bye-election.

However, a statement signed on Tuesday by its Publicity Secretary, Dr AbdulAzeez Olatunde, Oyo APC said: “Saturday, December 5, is the D-day when the social media campaign winner would be made to face the reality and truth against the crooked lies and fantasy world of hallucinations of self deceit the party which Mr Babatunde Gbadamosi, represents.”

The party wondered “why the recent American election where President Donald Trump had declared himself winner before the first ballot was cast did not serve the Lagos PDP and its senatorial candidate a bitter lesson in diligence and hard work is still a mystery in this clime to us.”

According to Olatunde: “The candidate for the senatorial bye-election who is being clever by half by not disclosing his WAEC results in full that he had F9 in Mathematics, F9 in Economics and F9 in Bible Knowledge in comparison to the APC Candidate, Mr Tokunbo Abiru who had excellent WAEC results and even went further to excel in life by having impeccable private and public sector track records.

“Mr Tokunbo Abiru has been accepted by the Youths, Women, Community and Market leaders as well as the Artisans and various electoral sectors because he has not been far away from them while serving in the Banking sector.

“The fraudulent and faceless opinion polls that had declared PDP Candidate, Mr Babatunde Gbadamosi winner days ahead of the Senatorial bye-election only served as a comical self delusion, just like Atikulated pre-2019 presidential election where the PDP presidential candidate had been declared winner weeks ahead of the lroper election, and of course like the recent American presidential election which President Donald Trump has returned himself winner and elected before voting started, based on the spurious opinion polls.

“If anything, we will only advise the electorates to consider the background check of the APC Candidate, Mr Tokunbo Abiru, who has been amiable, approachable and infact with good legacy, to vote for him.massively and overwhelmingly come Saturday, 5th December.”

Oyo APC assured the voters that they would not be disappointed with worthy representation at the red chambers of the national assembly in Abuja.

Meanwhile, the party has also congratulated the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Oyo State over the 2020 press week.

The party said the NUJ has had a good record of interest and it is a partner in the democracy project.

Oyo APC also condoled with the government and people of Borneo State over the killing of 43 farmers by insurgents.

It advised President Muhammad Buhari to change tactics and seek help from the international community in combating the security challenges facing the country.
