President Muhammadu Buhari, on Wednesday, held a closed door meeting with the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The meeting, which agenda was unknown, reportedly held at the president’s residence before the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting.
It was learnt that the discussions between the two leaders may not be unconnected with the party’s campaigns and other prevailing national issues, including the naira and fuel scarcity.
After the meeting, the president moved to chair the Federal Executive Council meeting at the Council Chambers while Tinubu is expected to be in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, for his campaign rally.
Newspeakonline also learnt that the president monitored the hearing of the case instituted at the Supreme Court against the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) on the naira redesign policy which had been moved to Wednesday, February 22.
Ten state governments are challenging the naira swap policy at the apex court.
The apex court said its order suspending the implementation of the February 10 deadline on the old naira notes still subsists.
