A 56-year-old former boxer, Moses Olapade, has reportedly punched his wife, Tinuke, to a coma over an argument on a television remote.
The incident was said to have happened at Oke-Aro community in Akure, the Ondo State capital
It was gathered that Olopade returned home from a journey and wanted to watch a programme on the television, but his wife’s refusal to give him the remote to tune in to his preferred channel led to an argument.
Olopade, who is also a truck driver, reportedly rained punches on his wife out of anger. The wife fell down and became unconscious.
It was also learnt that the screaming of their children attracted neighbours to the scene and they quickly rushed the victim to a nearby hospital, where she was resuscitated.
