Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has said the state, under his administration, has the the lowest food inflation in the country.
Speaking on ‘Political Circuit’ a Fresh FM 105.9 programme on Saturday, Makinde said his government has provided an enabling environment for agribusiness to thrive, thus expanding the economy of the state.
“The state government can not do the business of agriculture alone. It is the business of the state government to provide enabling environment for agribusiness and that we have done,” he said.
The governor explained that part of his efforts to boost agribusiness in the state is the provision of security, the construction and rehabilitation of roads, especially in Oke Ogun axis of the state, embarked upon by his administration.
He also said the state government has engaged the youths in agricultural training, collaboration with International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), and making the environment conducive for investors such as Sorbitol Cassandra processing plant in Ado Away.
