The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) has rejected the formation of an Interim National Government (ING) in Nigeria, saying that such a plan was not only evil, but an invitation to anarchy and confusion.
Briefing journalists in Lagos after a general executive council meeting of the Christian body, PFN President, Bishop Wale Oke, appealed to those who were not satisfied with the outcome of the February 25 presidential election to wait for the outcome of the suits they filed at the tribunal.
Oke, who addressed newsmen alongside members of the national executive council (NEC) of the PFN, appealed to those aggrieved over the outcome of the election to join hands in harmony to heal the nation, rather than threatening to burn the nation down, stressing that the consequence will be on everybody.
“Calling for an interim National Government is an invitation to anarchy, confusion and effort to abort democracy. We don’t need an Interim National Government, let the elective process grow, we say no to the Interim National Government. We are not in a situation that requires it. It is when we have peace that we have a future for everybody,” he said.
The PFN President also urged those who won election not to be arrogant in victory.
“We want to appeal to all Nigerians, state government, local government and federal government, political parties, winners and losers in the election, we should have in mind that no other country can be our own, let the process of healing take place.
“Let us join hands as a nation, in harmony and it is in that way we can make progress,” he added.
