The Ondo State Police Command on Saturday said it had commenced investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of three persons found dead in their house in Akure, the state capital.
Decomposing bodies of the three persons including two lovers, identified as Ojo Akinro and Mary lgwe, together with their friend, Lamidi Sheriff, were found in their apartment located at Aralusi quarters of Akure.
A family source who spoke with journalists on condition of anonymity said the bodies of the deceased were found in the toilet of their hom, which gave the impression that they were murdered by some assailants.
The source explained that after a few days without seeing them, family and friends of the deceased became apprehensive as all the telephone calls put across to them rang out without a response from either of the deceased.
“When there was no response to the phone calls, their relatives decided to visit their residence where they met the front door locked and had to break it down to access the flat.
“After searching all the rooms, they later discovered their dead bodies inside the toilet where they were dumped by the killers. So, they raised an alarm which attracted their neighbours,” the source said.
It was gathered that Mary, who was a nurse started staying with her boyfriend after she got pregnant.
The police spokesperson, Funmi Odunlami, who confirmed the incident, said it was a case of murder, adding that investigation had commenced.
“This is a case of murder and police detectives have commenced investigation,” Odunlami said.
